One simple tactic to save you time (and create margin)
Automation: according to IBM, it’s “the application of technology, programs, robotics or processes to achieve outcomes with minimal human input.”
Automation sounds expensive, complicated, daunting – something that buildings full of engineers work on.
But automation is accessible to every single business…
For example, automation can be as simple as recording your onboarding training so that you (or key employees) don’t have to burn time training a new team member.
That’s right: training videos aren’t just for huge corporations.
If you have trained more than one person with the exact same information, then you should be recording this training.
If it’s on a computer, just do a screen recording (Mac users have Quicktime already installed and ready…). If not on a computer, wear a GoPro camera or just use your smart phone. It does not have to be complicated.
From then on, people entering that same role can just watch the training before sitting down one-on-one, saving countless hours.
Simple automations pay off.
